Everton could sign one of two Chelsea players if Armando Broja loan deal cut sort

Everton are exploring whether taking another player on loan from Chelsea could resolve the club’s dilemma over Armando Broja. The striker was stretchered off in the Blues’ FA Cup final win over Peterborough United.

Broja looks set to be unavailable for up to three months. Not only does his absence prevent him from being able to help Everton, it means they are unable to turn to the domestic loan market as they continue efforts to strengthen this month.

Premier League clubs can only take two players on loan from the English pyramid at any one time and the Blues also have Jack Harrison on a temporary deal from Leeds United.

Discussions remain ongoing with Chelsea, who would need to be willing to cut short the loan deal for Broja return.

But one possible solution that is being looked at is whether Everton could take an alternative player on loan from Stamford Bridge to compensate for Broja’s salary returning to Chelsea’s wage bill.

Carney Chukwuemeka and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall are understood to be among the players on the Blues' radar, should a breakthrough be possible.
